    HOWARD A. LUSE, 69 BELVIDERE - Howard A. Luse, 69, of Belvidere died at 1:42 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. He lived courageously with multiple myeloma and peritoneal dialysis for six years. He was born on Nov. 26, 1938, in Cedar Rap-ids, Iowa, the son of Clark and Mabel Luse. He married Jeanne Wagor in Central City, Iowa on July 9, 1960. Howard, a graduate of Iowa State University, was employed at Chrysler Corporation in Belvidere for 20 years, retiring in 1998. He served in the U.S. Army in military intelligence. He had an avid interest in tractor and automotive restoration, and was a member of Northern Illinois Steam Power Club of Sycamore. He was a ham radio operator, call sign N9FTY, and a support driver for RAGBRAI, the Iowa bicycle tour, for several years. Howard is survived by his wife, Jeanne; sons, Ronald (Christine) Luse of Marion, Iowa, and Michael (Sherri) Luse of Machesney Park; grandchildren, Deirdre, Aidan, Reddyn, Declan, Joshua, Jeremy, Ashley and Jessica; sister, Eleanor Hagen of Blairstown, Iowa; brothers, Dick Luse of Coggon, Iowa, and David (Gale) Luse of Cedar Rapids; sisters-in-law, Margaret Luse of Minneapolis and Deloris Luse of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, John and Ed. Funeral will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, with visitation from 5 p.m. until time of service; the Rev. John O'Lane of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial at a later date in Jordan's Grove Cemetery, Central City, Iowa, following a memorial service. Memorials may be made to Camp Courageous, 12007 190th St., Monticello, Iowa 52310.
