N7NE writes "I recently received a letter from a former work mate asking me
if I could identify some large vacuum tubes he had found in the basement of a home he just purchased. He knows I am a Ham Radio
operator so thought I might have some knowledge in this area.
So far I have been unable to locate any information on the tubes
so am seeking help from QRZ readers. These are U.S. Navy vacuum
    tubes. One is Type CWL-851, serial 26812, cont. 82338, 1000 hrs, W
dated Jan '43. The other is Type CHS-38151, contract 39218, serial
1720, Sylvania, no date, 1000 hrs. These are large tubes, about 6
inches in diameter and 24 inches long.

If anyone has any idea what these were used for or if they are rare
or worth anything, my friend would be excited to find out something
    about them.

Thanks all and Best Regards, Ned"
