Monte Sano POTA Activation-W4DXY Cat “DixieDX”

On October 4, 2020, I did a POTA Activation at Monte Sano Mountain State Park (K-1048). This was my first POTA.

I used the following equipment for my contacts.
Radio: IC-705
Antenna: Chameleon MPAs Lite

Glad to be able to introduce you to the addiction of POTA. Had fun during the activation from the other side of the picnic table (POTA) Poison Oak Table Activation That stuff was everywhere.

 

Very cool -- my family and I were out camping at Monte Sano last week, and we activated the park (my first activation too). It was (A) my first time with lots of SSB contacts, (B) first time with a (small) pileup, and a few other firsts, I'm sure.

 

Now I know what pota means.

Congrats!
I love that park. I was a NASA brat back in the 60's, and lived right down the road from the park. There are very few places on Earth as beautiful as there.
