Log Windows writes "Log Windows to support ARRL's Logbook of the World

Program will provide both direct and ADIF support of LoTW

Muscle Shoals, Alabama. July 24, 2001. Creative Services Software announced
today that the popular Log Windows logging program would support direct and
ADIF access to the new Logbook of the World, approved by the ARRL Board of
Directors during their meeting in Rocky Hill, CT on July 20-21, 2001.

Using digital certificates issued to a ham by the ARRL and stored in Log
Windows, the program will create digitally signed log records, which will
then be sent to the ARRL's LoTW server via email. This will allow hams to
have a 'one-button' process for sending their logs to the ARRL for DXCC and
    other award credit.

"This will be a major enhancement to Log Windows and DXing in general", said
Rick Ruhl, W4PC, CSS's President and Lead Developer. "So many hams have been wanting to find a way to be able to QSL via the Internet, and the ARRL has
    moved on this technology".

No release date has been announced, since the server side of the Logbook of
the World must be completed first.

"We should be able to be there on 'Day 1'", Ruhl said, "and we think that is
quite important to the users of Log Windows".
