We all have heard about the rolling blackouts in California. However, acouple of days ago. Our local news here in Central Wisconsin said we could have the same problem. The reason, selling our power to the west coast.

I was wondering if anyone else has heard of this in their areas? Also, does this mean that we as ham operators need to spend more time and money on alternative power sources?

I was thinking on getting a deep cycle marine battery to run my Kenwood dual band radio. Our power goes out alot in the summertime because I live out in the country and have more thunderstorms. What about solar or wind power? Any ideas?

So, it's time to get those batteries out or it will be lights out on us all.

    73's
    Andy"
