Byrd, AD4CY LARRY EDSEL BYRD TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Larry Edsel Byrd, 58, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Mike Jones officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Byrd died Dec. 18 at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. He was a native of Sylacauga and lived most of his life in Talladega. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was retired from J.R. Pittard School of Technology. He worked at Alabama Industrial Development Training. He was preceded in death by his father, Dempsey Byrd, and daughter, Della Louann Byrd. He is survived by son, David Byrd of Alaska; his mother, Ann Byrd of Talladega; sister, Rita Gurley of Lawrenceville, Ga.; nephew, Christopher Gurley of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and niece, Angelia Sonksen of Signal Mountain, Tenn. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be John M. Hall, Neal Phillips, Louie Pettis, Rip Williams, Tommy Burton, Johnny Curlee, Terry Knight, Rick Jacks and Jeremy Curlee.
