    Lawrence Alexander Age 69, of Sumner, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Mid-Michigan Medical Center.

    Age 69, of Sumner, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Alma.

    Larry was born September 22, 1947 in Toledo, OH., the son of William and Doris (Yoder) Alexander Jr. After graduating high school, Larry received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Toledo. He worked for Sun Petroleum, many years for Total Petroleum and after they closed in Alma, he started Powder Coat of Central Michigan.

    He was a member of the Elks, former officer with the Kiwanis Club and attended New Haven Church of the Brethren. Larry was an Eagle Scout, a Sumner Township Trustee, and an amateur radio operator with the call sign WA8MKY.

    He is survived by a brother Richard (Cynthia) Alexander, niece Stephanie (Charlie) Edwards, nephew Steven (Jami) Alexander and great niece and nephew Kaitlin and Bryson Edwards.

    Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

    A memorial visitation will be held June 9, 2017 from 2 to 5 pm at the New Haven Church of the Brethren. Interment will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 1:30 pm at Toledo Memorial Park and Mausoleum Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charity of Choice.
