    George Leslie Kometz Les Kometz was born on January 19, 1922 and went to his savior on December 29, 2011.
    Born in Bellingham, Washington to parents George and Alma Kometz, the Kometz family later settled in Snohomish, Washington, where Les graduated high school in 1939.
    In 1960, Les's family moved to Ketchikan, Alaska, where Les worked a journeyman electrician and telephone technician. He retired at age 62 from Ketchikan Public Utilities, and moved shortly thereafter to Tacoma, Washington.
    He was a lifelong ham radio enthusiast, and a 32nd degree Mason. He is survived by his sister Jean Verdon of Pella, IA, sons Mike (Alice) Kometz of Snohomish, WA, Paul (Lynda) Kometz of Redding, CA, and Rick (Elizabeth) Kometz of Snohomish, WA, daughter Kathy (John) Parisotto of Redding, CA, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Les will be buried at GAR Cemetery in Snohomish with his parents. Per his request, no services are planned.
