    Special Event Station K8R

Athens County Amateur Radio Association and the Athens County Red Cross Amateur Radio Service (WA8ARC) are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Red Cross of Southeastern Ohio (formerly Athens County Red Cross) with special event station callsign K8R.

    K8R will operate from 0000 UTC on November 1, 2017 through 0000 UTC on November 16, 2017.

Anticipated frequencies of operation are 3.800 mHz, 7.225 mHz, 14.215 mHz and 21.275 mHz SSB. Some K8R control ops may also operate CW in these bands and perhaps some QRP. Most operators will also provide DX spots on DX spotting websites when on air. A calendar of planned activation dates and times will appear here later.

A special event QSL card will be available by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) with your request to Samuel J (Jeff) Slattery, N8SUZ, 45 Carol Lane, Athens, OH 45701-3657. QSL cards sent without a SASE will not receive a QSL in return.
