The Gang At K3L writes "QSL Manager Named!

Annapolis, Md. Thu. Aug. 9, 2001 One of the members of The AM Expedition to Thomas Point Lighthouse in the Chesapeake Bay will handle QSL requests related to our event under the call sign K3L between Aug. 2-5, 2001. He is the only destination where verification requests should be sent. There is no bureau service.

We are planning an attractive verification certificate based on photographic images (medium format, 120 film) taken out at the lighthouse. If you'd like to help defray the cost, enclose what you see fit.

Most importantly, and this won't cost you anything, we need letters of support for the Coast Guard's decision to grant access to TPL, #845, which had never before been granted.

Such a letter, to accompany your request for verification, should be addressed to us, but is intended to be bundled with others and presented to USCG as part of expressing our appreciation of their support.

Please date and sign the letter with your address, and kindly offer us some of your thoughts about the value of this specific lighthouse expedition. Avoid generalizations, which can unwittingly convey less value than a letter tailored to the extraordinary access granted here. Simply tell what it means to you and your views of the Coast Guard for allowing us to operate out there.

Thanks for your patience. Please send your hardcopy request for a verification and letter to:

N3RZU NORMAN K. CHIPPS 12427 SEABURY LN BOWIE MD 20715

    Signed, The Gang At K3L
