    Harry S. Ford Jr., 73, of Nutley died April 14 at home surrounded by family.

    Born in Washington, D.C., and lived in Belleville before moving to Nutley 43 years ago. He was an electrical engineer and former vice president of engineering for Autronica Marine USA, and president of Micro-Ford. He held an master's degree in management and was an engineering consultant servicing commercial ships traveling worldwide. He trained in Germany, France, Norway and Japan in Marine Engineering Equipment.

    He was a life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, Computer Society, and National Eagle Scout Association as well as being a member of the Nutley Irish American Association. He was an Eagle Scout, assistant district commissioner for Northern New Jersey Council, obtaining a Silver Beaver; Scouting's highest honor. He honorably served in the National Guard as radio team chief and his Commercial radio license was K2DRL.

    Surviving are his wife Julie L (Travers) Ford; his children Jeffrey Ford and his wife Megumi and Kimberly Marecki and her husband John; three grandchildren and his sisters Janet Mayer and Nancy Golding.

    The funeral will to be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 19 at the S.W. Brown and Son Funeral Home, www.swbrownandson.com, 267 Centre St. in Nutley. The interment was to follow at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Clifton. Visitors were to be received at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18.
