    Somebody getting a little wild on programming the ARRL home page this morning? Spotted this:

    On the article about Daylight Saving Time, I see a photo of a clock face, where you show some text that is mildly inappropriate.

    I looked at the html source code for that page, and found the following code for that image.
    <img src="/img/65x70/News/Big Ass Clock Face.jpg" alt="Big Ass Clock Face" />
    So it looks like, when you loaded the page, for some reason the image of the clock face wasn't available. Could've been a temporary network glitch or something. So the browser did what it was supposed to, and dutifully displayed the alt text in place of the image.

    All looks ok here,

    Any good web designer should know better that to use a controversial file names for an image.

    The operative word here is “mildly” innapropriate. It is only “controversial” to some, not to me. I do not use this phrase in conversation, just as I would never call anyone “Dude” lest they think me a dumbass (ooops!). On the continuum of offensive things one might encounter online or on the air this barely registers. Are there not bigger battles to fight?
    “Big ass <fill in the blank>“ is a common colloquialism: the FCC does even not consider it profane (you’ll hear it on Network TV shows, not that I watch them anymore). So, how far do you demand others must bend to accommodate your sensibilities? Remember that there is always going to be someone out there more Prissy than you are.

    There are some among us now, who when hearing or reading some words, would need puppies or bunnies to pet, before being able to proceed with their lives.

    I do not need a reason to pet my puppy. The bunny may be petted or may go in the stewpot, depending.
