Inaugural event, CUMBERLAND series: CUMBERLAND FALL 2021

My initial foray into such events.

CUMBERLAND FALL 2021

1. Eligibility: Any Amateur Radio licensee eligible to use 40m and/or 80m may register by pmail to KI7CIL@qrz.com or TNgunseller@ar15.com. Serial numbers and appropriate text schedule blocks will be sent in reply, in order of receipt.

2. Object: A connectivity event, using SSB voice, in the 40 and 80 meter bands.

4. Format:

At 2021 Oct 6 0101Z, on 40m, and again at 2021 Oct 6 0401Z, on 80m, Net control (KI7CIL) will announce the start of Event CUMBERLAND FALL 2021 (hereafter CF21).

At each schedule, a request will be made for any priority or emergency traffic to be passed, IAW 47 CFR part 97.403-5. If such a situation arises, the emergency traffic will be ceded to, and the event will end.

After such request, each participant ID will be contacted, by CF21 serial number and call sign, up to three times.

The participant will reply with their serial number, callsign, and the four character text unique to their serial number, time of schedule, and date of schedule. Once confirmed, Net Control will continue on to the next participant.

Once the serial number list has been completely run through, any missed participants will be recalled once.

At 2021 Oct 8 1901Z, on 40m, and again at 2021 Oct 8 2201Z, on 80m, Net control (KI7CIL) will announce the end of Event CUMBERLAND FALL 2021.

5. Acknowledgements.

All participants that make contact at all schedules on a band will receive a certificate acknowledging their achievement.

All participants that make contact on all schedules on both bands will receive a certificate acknowledging their dual band achievement.

Time, inclination, and Nomex are not available for dealing with flames or foolishness other than at executive levels.

Owing to the lack of registrants, CUMBERLAND FALL is cancelled. I will open registration for CUMBERLAND SNOW (First or second week of January 2022) some time next month.
