Unpopular opinion: a very large portion of those getting their ticket now never get on the air past the first week their ticket is active. This includes my guilty wife, who asked me to help get her licensed after hurricane Florence two years ago when her hospital lost ALL coms including VOIP and all cellular carriers. Enforcement: I remember back in the 80's and early 90's when I was a serious high power CB'er (1,600 watts), we were petrified of every "white van" with anything more than a FM antenna on its hood. The "old timers" were absolutely petrified and made sure we knew the risks and we were in turn petrified. The FCC needs to get their vans back out of mothballs. I knew several guys, including some hams, that were fined and raided. It was a real threat and one of the reasons I finally got my ticket.
