    All I need to do is compare my experiences with Elecraft to my experiences with Icom (the latter as a consumer and as an authorized dealer). Elecraft gets my money every time. I’d wait three years for delivery of a K4 if I had to.

    Oh? Got a reference with statistics?

    There are safeguards at the major sites, but whatever, if it bugs you don’t do it. Life itself has risks - one must know their own tolerance and act accordingly.

    Same here! Just added an Elecraft KPA1500 amp, next year I'll add a K4 and move the K3s to backup

    Not a surprise. The postponed rollout and the multiple firmware updates are what you'd expect from a complex computer-based product. The K4 represents a huge change for Elecraft and it would be a mistake for them to rush it out before they think it's ready.

    If it's a good transceiver, no one will remember the delay in a year or so.
