Remember my field day video with the homemade tape measure and bicycle rim antenna on the loop tuner? Check out the patented design made by Radiowavz, and a giveaway on my page. Watch to see.
I don't know if I would drill the tape. I think it would weaken it to the point of breaking it at some time. de N7HRO
DISGUSTING! I am really getting tired seeing amateur radio people measuring antennas using cubits! Especially when DUAL measuring system tapes are available in many sizes. The idea of using measuring tape is pretty ancient too and there is a successful manufacturer of motorized / adjustable antennas. Granted - in very different price category. Even if I do "carpenter's special" I would spent few $ on tape measure well constructed so it WON'T jump from the reel after few pulls. I got CHEAP set (4 pieces ) of tapes of different length , all calibrated in BOTH cubits and METRIC style , just to measure and they fell apart in no time! 73 Shirley PS Always wonder how to adjust for "what is still on the reel".
You state patented in the video, please state the patent grant number or filing number so I can verify this.
Why are not providing me with the patent number as verbally claimed in the video and patent pending that is marked on the product. At first I though this was another FAKE video, however finding the item for sale on Amazon for $29 was interesting. Pretty good margin for a cheap import tape and a few stickers applied to mark off antenna lengths. Their website does not mention of the "patent"??????
