I just got the new Retevis RT23 handheld radio. This is the newcomer in the cross band repeater handheld radio marker. If there is such a thing, anyway. Here is the video, enjoy: https://wp.me/p800qu-gr _____________________________________________________________________ Ham Radio Reviews is my blog about amateur radio gear, reviews and more. Initially this would appear to be a bait and switch. The used car salesman mindset has infiltrated the ranks of Ham radio! We’re doomed! J
Well, I have changed the blog post and video descriptions, when I first figured the radio was not full-duplex. As a matter of fact, I am probably the first person that has stated this (at least online). Unfortunately, QRZ forums do not allow editing of posts after a certain period. I am still waiting a response from AC8KW though.
Yes, I saw you had changed the review when I clicked on the link. It can be annoying not being able to change the title of a post. The other thing I found is this link does not work anymore. http://www.retevis.com/rt23/
But it looks like this radio can RX on one band while TXing on another. Either 2m and 70cm or 70cm and 2m. So that would be full duplex. http://www.retevis.com/rt23-cross-band-repeater-dual-ptt-walkie-talkie/
It has a cross-band repeater capability, yes. However, without cross-band repeater active, when you transmit on one side, it does not receive on the other. It can receive on both at the same time, hence the dual-receive.
Yes, it would. I thought id would do that in the first place, hence the erroneous "full-duplex" report.
