Sam Reynolds KM4WDK is a 13-year-old ham (and about to cross his one-year mark in August). He's loving ham radio so much he wants to share it, especially with other young people. So he's started a YouTube show: The HamKid KM4WDK. Co-host David W0DHG and I invited Sam onto HamRadioNow to talk about starting a show (and btw, camp is getting in the way of new episodes for a few weeks), and his experience as a very young ham. I also do a side-by-side comparison of the Heil PR-40 that I've been using since the beginning of the show with a much less expensive mic from AudioTechnica, the ATR-2100, that's becoming the podcaster's go-t0 mic (if they can't afford the cachet of the PR-40). Here's the direct link to that part of the episode. And stay tuned... I'm almost done editing my HamRadioNow Field Day Tour. NC Section Manager Karl Bowman W4CHX and I visited 10 Field Day sites in western North Carolina (super-beautiful countryside), and you'll see how a bunch of other hams do it. 73, Gary KN4AQ
