I've never knowingly heard Wabun/Kana code on air in all my life! Wabun code is a form of Morse code used to send Japanese language in kana characters. Unlike International Morse Code, which represents letters of the Latin script, in Wabun each symbol represents a Japanese kana. For this reason, Wabun code is also sometimes called Kana code. Mr Hamyagi probably has!
There's Morse Code: https://www.miaminewtimes.com/music/morse-code-6362347 ... ... then there's Morse's Code: https://stevemorse.org/mcode.html And they both go by Steve; not Samuel Finley Breese.
And, in the case of Steve Morse, the musician and pilot, when he's flying at high altitudes: Morse's Cold.
K4AAQ says (about his new callsign): "Not bad syncopation on cw (not that I operate much cw)" . . . We think he meant: "Not bad syncopation on Morse code (not that I operate much Morse code)"
I thought we used International (Continental) code for CW radio operation not Morse code. Morse code has some alphabetic letters that contain a space when sent. Morse was used for landline and railroad telegraph communication. If I am wrong please correct me.
