A tool that I like is HamInfoBar - totally free and a good addition to your browser. I've had it installed for about 6 months w/o any problems.

All credit to John G0DPC because it is quite useful but the problem is it simply takes up room on the screen that could be used for viewing content. I removed it because I found I was scrolling web pages I could see in full before and I have a fairly large 24 inch monitor and on my laptop it was simply unusable. A suggestion would be to make it a desktop widget that opens when you click on it, much better.

I don't know what makes the bar appear, but it is easily ridded (like that?) by rt clicking and unchecking.
