Are there plans for HRD/DM780 to support JT65? I currently use JT65HF on a frequent basis (thanks Joe!) but would LOVE it if it was integrated into DM780.

Maybe true, but then there are those of us who use those extra features and were somewhat annoyed that Simon did not move along with updates (he was more interested in SDR, which he developed because he made no money on HDR). I'll gladly pay to have the updates incorporated into newer versions of the software.

I "only" use the logging and call-sign look-up capabilities, and I still pre-purchased HRD 6.0, if for no other reason than to support W4PC's investment in the long-term viability of the HRD suite.

I have no issue with the commercialization of HRD, as it creates an ethical obligation on the part of W4PC to develop and maintain HRD. Simon was under no such obligation, and would remind people on occasion when issues arose, or when he didn't agree with the rationale behind a request.

I personally think it is unrealistic, and not entirely fair, to expect anyone to labor without reward to support my hobby activities. I have no issue when someone does something for free, and then changes their mind. But these are just my opinions...

    HRD and Windows 8

What would be really nice is for HRD 6 to work with Windows 8.

Windows 8 does not like the current version of HRD, or the current version of HRD does not like Windows 8.

The Compatibility issues depend on who you want to blame.

That is nice. What are the tricks to install it correctly ?

No tricks at all. I did it like an end user.. ran setup, then put in the drivers for the Eagle (which is what we were showing). That had some issue installiing though, so I told the tentec installer it was Windows 7 and poof.. ran all weekend with HRD/Logbook/DM-780

Waiting for a usb to serial adapter cable for my Kam Plus. It's been in the closet for years. HRD works fine.

I have found that my USB to serial adapter causes a Blue Screen error (BSOD). I am hunting for one with a better driver to stop this.

If it's prolific, throw it away, get an FTDI or SiLabs chipset.

RT Systems has them and really inexpensive.

Sure is. And it is crap!

Thanks for the tip, I will look into that.
