    Frank Murray Obituary

    New Jersey State Funeral Director, Amateur Ham Radio Operator, Longtime Resident of Jersey City
    Frank L. Murray, Jr. (84) of Ventnor City, NJ formerly of Jersey City. "Frankie" as he was affectionately known was born in Asbury Park, NJ. He transitioned from this life peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2024, at home with his loving wife "Fran" by his side.
    Mr. Murray was educated in the NJ public school system, graduating from Orange High School in 1959. Recognized for his stellar athleticism in the sport of Track & Field, he was awarded a track scholarship and furthered his education at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida, earning a bachelor's degree in business administration.
    Frank continued to advance his studies and graduated from American Academy McAllister Institute. And licensed in 1969 to practice mortuary Science in New Jersey. He worked for many years at "Murray's A Temple of Service in Jersey City. This was a family-owned establishment. When his uncle retired, Frank became the owner of the funeral home and was steadfast in making his uncle "IL" very proud. Frank L. Murray continued to serve the community for 40 years. He helped and touched the lives of many families in Jersey City.
    Frankie's favorite hobby was ham radio. He was an active Amateur Radio Operator, speaking to people all over the world and making close connections with those he encountered.
    He leaves behind to cherish his memory devoted wife Francis Murray; 3 loving daughters, Velicia M. Lawings, Joycelynn J. Murray, Candace C. Murray-Perry (Otis); nephew Robert Isaac Murray, Jr. and a host grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues, and friends.
