Part 3 (of 3) in my series on emergency net activation will "premier" this evening on YouTube at 19:30 EST / 0030Z. In this final installment we'll cover how the parts fit together. Standards, training, and activation procedures work together to ensure that people have time to get notice, understand the situation, what to do, and that they've already practiced what they're doing. We took advantage of the Winter Storm at the end of January / early February to watch an event realtime, to conduct operations to relay agency messages being generated realtime (weather alerts), and to measure our performance. As a proof of concept, we've got some good results, while highlighting the need for participating stations. The video will go live this evening, and we'll have a live chat that goes along with it. After that the video will also be online for anyone who wants to revisit or see it for the first time later.
