    Ed Sonnanstine, W8NFQ


    SONNANSTINE, Edgar age 93, was born in Dayton, OH, but spent his teenage
    and early adult years in Detroit, MI, moving back to West Carrollton in
    1952 to take a job at NCR as an electrical engineer. He was a garduate
    of Cass Tech High School in Detroit and a WWII veteran, serving in the
    OSS in Egypt as a radio operator. *He was a ham radio operator (W8NFQ)
    for over 75 years and a member of the Quarter Century Wireless
    Association*. He was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in West
    Carrollton for over 55 years. He is survived by his wife of 68 years,
    Amy E. Sonnanstine, his daughter Judy Coleman (Blaine), his son Alan
    Sonnanstine (Kathy), grandsons Erik Riker-Coleman (Kristin), Todd
    Coleman (Rellen Hardtke), Adam Sonnanstine, granddaughter Amy K.
    Sonnanstine, and three great-granddaughters Erin, Anika, and Leah.
    Funeral services will be Saturday January 29, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the
    Grace Lutheran Church, 410 East Pease Ave., West Carrollton, OH 45449,
    Pastor Dean Haferman officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen
    Cemetery, West Carrollton. Visitation will be at the church Saturday 2
    hours prior to services (1-3 p.m.). In lieu of flowers memorial
    contributions may be made to the church, at the address above, in Ed's
    memory. Arrangements Sanner Funeral Home, West Carrollton.
