Neat project! I hadn't heard about this until just now. I figured I'd help the matter along and post one of your photos from the website. A picture speaks a thousand words? Maybe its since I'm from the Nintendo era, but these sorts of things really need some physical buttons. Like a classic Nintendo D-Pad and A/B style buttons. I'm not trolling here either, but more from a user interface perspective, hams have fat fingers. I mean that in the physical sense. Now consider, this radio you want folks to use out in the cold, with gloves on! Can I get some low precision controls that can be used on a mountain top in the winter with the gloves on? Also, can you add a PSK31 browser too? Great work!
Hi AAron, Thanks for your reply, Well the 'buttons thing' would be considered a 'retro-vulnerability' but the dev-team did solve the 'fat-fingers' issue (see below) as far as 'out in the cold' - Well, I am in Canada and hate Snow, so its a 'mute point' with me but if I did like the cold and had gloves on - problem solved again! - Now, far as PSK31, is concerned - as "DXFT8" has No Operating System (its hard-coded) its not an really an option with DXFT8, sorry! But it does have is an enthusiastic user-group and a great Pedigree (WB2CBA)... come check us out sometime! 73 Terry
