OK, FT8 users-- its finally official. FT8 has had impact:)

The awards committee is to be thanked for ALSO recognizing JS8 as an exciting spinoff. Ham-grown!

In the scheme of innovation, less than three years from inception to recognition is lightning speed. Those who think we are stuck in the past just don't know ham radio today.

Don't write off amateur radio. We have lots of innovations ahead.

Congrats again to ALL of this year's winners!

Wow! KN4CRD was "only licenced in 1917"? Remarkable longevity. How does he look so good? :p

Prof. Taylor may have to put his Nobel plaque in a drawer to make room for his Hamvention prize on the wall.

    Note addition to your quote.

Joe won Ham of the Year in...2015?2016?

The nominator was well aware of this. Joe won this time as part of the team of THREE that came up with FT8:)

I doubt Joe would have been interested in another award per se: he wanted to stress it was the TEAM that did FT8, IMO.

Congrats to K9AN and G4WJS, the other team members:)
