Daniel E. Milligan, 71, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully in his home at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. He was born Saturday, November 4, 1944 in Philadelphia to the late Joseph and Eleanor (Jackson) Milligan. He was happily married to Kathryn L. (Stroud) Milligan for over 34 years.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, Dan proudly served with the U.S. Air Force. After being honorably discharged, he reenlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves, going on to serve in the Persian Gulf War.

Dan was an avid ham radio operator, Philadelphia Flyers and Phillies fan, and hobby collector. He was passionate about traveling with his wife, both within the United States and worldwide, and particularly enjoyed learning about military history on each of their adventures. His keen wit and affable nature made him friends wherever he went. An expert storyteller, Dan could easily captivate an audience with his tales. Most importantly, Dan embodied a generosity of spirit, always caring for others, offering support, and devoting himself deeply to his family.

In addition to his wife, he will be lovingly missed by his daughter, Amy K. Milligan and her husband, Heiner Kessler, of Mount Joy, as well as Dan’s extended family and caring friends.

Masonic Services will be conducted at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 in the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel at Masonic Village, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. A Memorial Service will follow with Chaplain Timothy A. Nickel officiating. The Committal Service will be held at 3 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville with Full Military Honors. Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at Sell Chapel on Tuesday from 11:30AM until the time of the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dan’s memory to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 304, Chicago, IL 60611.
