My good friend and low-band DXer Charlie Kluttz, W4TMR passed away this afternoon at his home. Charlie was like a grandfather to me and often helped and advised me as I began my DX adventures. He was well-loved by myself and the local (and not-so-local) ham community. Charlie was frequently to be found in the early morning hours chasing DX on the low bands and joining his motley group on 160m. He will be missed, but we know he is in a better place now (where the bands are always open ). RIP old friend! 73 de KM4SII - Mason
This is sad news indeed. Charlie Was a great guy. The first time we met Charlie, we took an instant liking to him. He knew a lot about most everything. We were always amazed at how intelligent Charlie was. He was always willing to share information and helped many hams in the hobby. Charlie, old friend, We will see you soon on the other side. 73 until we meet again in heaven. John K4AGO and GiGi Km4SFY
