The clamping system is at the base of the design because it can be used will all current commercial portable magnetic loop. Designing a proprietary clamping system will increase the cost for nothing.

This is an update of our current prototype:

 

Not that hard to make... Oren Elliot air variable has 6 to 1 gear ratio & slip clutch.. No need for end of travel switches. Normal range for the air cap is about 18pf to 387pf. If you can see in pic... I added a relay & cap to kick in to give it 397pf to 766pf....

 

Now thats much more like it.

I think , Ian, make your point without being disparaging of others. Perhaps you enjoy being blunt. I hope not, but that is definitely your prerogative.
