Who: WV8CCC / W8V Where: Spruce Knob, WV When: August 18, 19 & 20 2017 Bands: "General Segment" of 80, 40, 20, 17, 15, & 12m; Technician Segment of 10m; and 6 (50.125Mhz SSB), 2 (144.25 SSB, 146.52 FM) In commemoration of the founding of our club, the Coal Country Amateur Radio Club, Madison WV, will be venturing to Spruce Knob West Virginia (the highest peak in West Virginia) for an outing this weekend, August 18, 19 & 20 2017. We will be operating as W8V. All HF phone bands will be attempted, however, we'll primarily be focused on 20, 40 & 80m operations. We'll be operating on battery/portable from a variety of different rigs and antennas. We have coordinated our efforts with the National Park Service and the National Radio Quiet Zone in Greenbank WV. Operations will commence no later than 11pm (0300am GMT Sat Morning) Friday Night (but you may hear us before that time, testing equipment, etc) and will continue on/off (depending on the number of operators we have available) through Sunday afternoon. 6m/2m Operations will commence at 11am (1500 GMT) on Saturday morning and continue until no further QSOs are available. We will be issuing a commemorative QSL card or certificate for this special event for all interested contacts made via SASE included with your QSL card. 73! WV0CQ
