Another great issue Dave! You and Gary and all the rest sure put effort into those. Loved seeing Les Moxon brought up as his antennas work so well.

Dave W7UUU wrote it, the right point of view is necessary. Its the american way of HAM-Radio, what is to read. Other countries, other customs, other possibilities, other acts.

The 'right' point of view... gimme a break.

That is incorrect. There is nothing uniquely American to striving for perfection. We just enable it by not letting 'social experiments' overly interfere by imposing outrageous restrictions on same.

You may disagree, that's fine. But frankly, the outcomes speak for themselves and are the reasons that millions of people risk their lives to get and be here.

I again urge you to look at what you CAN do given the restictions you find yourselfe in. The 'box' might be small, but there are always ways to push on through it if YOU are dedicated to that.

Remote operation is a good example. If you do not have it in your country then ask WHY that restriction is NEEDED, as opposed to enabling the individual.

Dave does a great job on this magazine. Furthermore HE does it. Not the state, not the organization, It is the fact that we don't have press restrictions here that LET'S him do it. And that, unfortunately, does seem to be an American attribute that should be true verywhere IMO.

Yes, Great issue, particularly the article about controlling Flex from Linux. Dave in the magazine you talk about loosing Publisher. I feel your pain, same here, I have used Publisher since day one. You can still buy shrink wrapped copies of Office 2019 fairly cheaply, that's what I've done. Publisher seems complete in there but you would probably have to try it to see if it has what you need. Also, if you need OneNote there is an executable installer for 2019 that restores OneNote.

You just see in the first line yourself, next the country you are living in and others who got to be americans, just for to be a "star" in this thread. This is a typical troll behaviour and against the HAM-Spirit.

All of your words should be cringed for others around you.

"All of your words should be cringed for others around you."

This doesnt belong on any public forum. It is hate-driven.

The ham spirit is defined by actions. Mapping your comments on this thread to same is , to be charitable, problematic.

If you want to complain that this great online pub is 'not for the little guy', then write an article for it where the 'little guy' overcomes adversity under 'ham spirit'. For example, you talk about a balcony antenna on your '2024 projects' There are thousands here who have been or are within that very description. I am sure your point of view would , in that context, be inspiring.

Take it offline. I'm not trolling anyone, nor will entertain trolls. Or worse.

My Uncle, Pete Hidy, was the editor of a club magazine called The Creel. The picture is of the very first issue which he produced:

My point of posting this here is that the content and contributors were so amazing, that The Creel was considered the first true Fly Fishing magazine. I truly believe the Logger’s Bark could replace un-named amateur radio themed magazines in print as it stands. The content is that good.

    Yep.

This is often how great media pubs start!

But when they lose the vision of their founder, they are often marginalized or doomed. We've already seen that happen in the last year. May be another example happening as we speak....

Dave has been very transparent about soliciting articles and feedback. When we see bitching that ignores that invitation, well, that 'feedback' is best ignored.
