A recording of a QSO between Sergei, U5MIR onboard the International Space Station and Sion Chow Q. C., 9W2QC can be heard at:

    Details of the QSO at:
    http://www.southgatearc.org/news/aug2005/qso_with_sergei.htm

Note the uplink frequency is given as 144.490 MHz. That is the frequency used to talk to the ISS from the Americas and Asia. When the ISS is within range of Europe and Africa  the Astronauts listen on 145.200 MHz instead. The Astronauts always transmit on 145.800 MHz. This is due to 2 metre bandplan differences between the continents.
