So if you click on the article about RTTY RU, there is a sidebar with recommended contest frequencies, for example, 14.130-14.150 for 20m FT8 So, I just now put in 14.130 as a new frequency, but then realized that what is put in is not always what you get. For example, using the 14.130 and put my waterfall transmit at 200, when I transmit, the radio actually transmits at 14128.5, and if I put the waterfall at 3000, it is at 14131.5, so there is a built in offset. I'm sure that it is explained somewhere in the documentation, but my question is do people set the software so it will really transmit 14130-14150, or do they set the nominal frequency and not sweat the small offset? Also, is there a setting to do the whole sub-band, or do they break it up into 3k chunks, putting in a WSJT-X a settings for (lets just say we do nominal 2k segments) for 14130, 14132, 14134, 14136, 14138 ... 14150? I feel like I am missing something here. Thanks, Brett
14.130 would be the dial frequency. If you set it to transmit at 200, WSJT-X moves the dial frequency down when you transmit so that your signal is transmitted near the center of your audio passband on 14.132. Recommend you read up on the "Split" or "Fake It" settings, and why, in the WSJT-X documentation.
