Angus "Scotty" Smith, went to be with his Lord on November 26, 2017, at the age of 75 years.

He was born April 15, 1942, on 18 Stock St. in Paisley, Scotland.

Scotty leaves a legacy of accomplishments including music skills which he enjoyed passing on to a very large number of his students.

He was an accomplished ham radio and satellite radio operator. He contacted other ham operators around the world as well as astronauts aboard the space shuttle.

He leaves behind his family in Scotland, many friends and former music students in Barrhead. He often played his music at various events in Barrhead and area, sometimes with guitars he built himself.

Scotty was predeceased by his parents, Murdo and Marian, sister Meriam and brother Uist.

He is survived by his sisters, Violet and May, plus brothers Stewart and Murdo, all living in Scotland.

Scotty was diagnosed with ALS in July 2016 and spent the last months in palliative care in Barrhead Continuing Care Centre.

Thank you to the many friends and staff who visited and cared for him at home and at BCCC. Thank you to the ALS Society for their great support.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Barrhead Bethel Pentecostal Church at a time to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton or the Barrhead FCSS.
