A very cool update for Android posted ham radio operators.
Until recently one of the drawbacks with the Android operating system was the lack of multitasking. After a recent update to Android 7 for my Google Nexus 9, I've been testing the compatibility of amateur radio apps for Android using the new split screen mode on Android N. This opens up a lot of potential for portable operators, who can now run two apps simultaneously, from a single device while in the field.

This post is just touching the tip of the iceberg, but I promise to bring more information and news about compatibility and capabilities just as soon as I can.
Here are some of the apps tested so far.

    - AndFLMsg
    - WSPR Beacon app
    - JT65 Android (must start second)
    - HamLog
    - HamGPS
    - DroidSSTV
    - Robot36
    - SSTV Encoder

For the man portable operator, we really need to get away from the flight case go kit, start thinking about maximising capabilities, while minimising gear requirements.
