Thank you, its a great piece of software. With the Security Certificate installed it works like a champ. This is also hosted on a dedicated server so it should run very well for users. So far it seems to be very stable.

BTW if anyone signs up now they get $10 in credit that can be used towards several listings. Basically its free money to make free listings, I have never seen Ebay do that.

Just for clarification we are NOT affiliated with hambid.com or radioexchange.net both sites seem to be defunct and don't know anyone that was involved with them. We are a new start up and seem to be doing something right, no plans on shutting down anytime soon.

I'm going to guess that the "Buy Out" = the reserve price. I think a seller should have to choose between the two, otherwise it's not really an "auction" but just an auction in name only. I have always detested "auctions" with a reserve price, just make the reserve the opening bid and don't waste my time. No REAL auction starts bidding at one price but refuses to sell unless the price reaches some minimum level. Having a REAL AUCTION site would set you apart from everyone else, repeating the same games that everyone else plays just makes you another face in the crowd.

Ah man, i thought I was the only person who felt that way about reserves. I've had it happen on eBay (not with radio gear, but other stuff) where I won the auction but didn't meet the undisclosed reserve price. I've received emails from sellers "You won the auction at $78, but my reserve is $250. I'll sell it to you for $250 if you want"

Well no, I don't want. If I wanted to pay $250, I'd have bid $250.

I totally agree that no auction should be able to set an opening bid lower than the reserve price. That's how real auctions work. I don't mind "Buy it now" so much. Might as well take money from impatient folks. Buy it out is usually an arbitrary high price that the seller feels is appropriate for a person who doesn't want hte hassle of the auction.

Absolutely!!!!!!!! Sellers should open their auctions with a minimum bid equal to what they wish to receive. If you're selling old junk, and just want to get something, opening bid of $.01 is fine, if you think it is worth $ 40, then open the auction with that amount. Take the absolute minimum price you wish to receive, bump it up another 20, 30, whatever % you truly think is fair, and set that as the "Buy It Now" price.

If I am needing a particular component for an older rig or piece of test gear, I often use the "Buy It Now" price, as it is quicker, sometimes the rarity or scarcity demands it, or it removes the uncertainties of bidding wars, which seem to often occur for no rational reasons whatsoever, unless you can chalk some of them up to 'shill bidders'!

As KD7EIR said, to truly differentiate your site, "BE DIFFERENT". You might just last longer if you do, otherwise, you're a small player in a really big ocean. Best of success to you!!
