Much to my dismay today the world lost a great lady. Queen Elizabeth ll passed away today at 96 years old. I am not british but my heart goes out to the families and friends as well as our british friends here at the great loss. Rest in piece Elizabeth ll.
When the germans were bombing london she stayed and broadcast messages of news and hope to her countrymen when she had the option to evacuate. A brave and selfless act that deserves honor.
thank you for your thoughts. i know i speak for many uk stations, but waking up this morning trying to soak in the information and disbelief at the loss of such a brilliant lady was very hard, she will be sadly missed de M0AZI
I had the Honor to meet her and fly her when she was on a trip to Belize See V31kW for the photo 73 from, The K0UO " Rhombic Antenna Farm" 2 miles of wire in the Air & On the AIR daily
I suspect we will hear many great things about her now that she is gone. The Royal Family did not like beating their own drum, as a result all we heard about the Royal Family was the tabloid and Enquirer BS. She was a first class act and very engaged in world events. I am quite sure that Charles will be engaged in maintaining her legacy to the best of his ability. I wish him luck!
Ths is the image that says with me The (then) Princess and the Quenn mum. Rather a storied life, the funeral will be epic and perhaps, the last of such a pageant. RIP.
There is nothing wrong with royalty providing they take their duty seriously and adhere to it. But rather than going off the rail and getting this post locked Lets keep that other subject out of it. And you guys know what im talking about. Again my lady rest in peace.
A truly great woman. So great, well liked and respected that I have to wonder if there would have even been an American Revolution had she been the Queen at that time.
If we 'dropped the Royalty thing' we would need another method for finding a Head of State. I've pondered this predicament for a few moments, and quickly compared our late Queen to a few other current or recent Heads of State. Having done so, I'm happy to give King Charles III the benefit of the doubt, after all, he's had the longest apprenticeship in British history. If he's half as good as his late Mother, he'll still be better than most of the HoS above.
I'm leary of King Charles. Big time globalist and climate change guy and a supporter of The Great Reset. We'll see...
That's the point really - they fill a role for life without the power to do anything. What's the alternative? An elected Head of State? Winning an election gives them grounds to claim the authority to "do things" and then you end up with a political Head of State who will always be disliked by close to half the population.
