In 1985 the Japanese Akira Yohino succeeded in eliminating the pure lithium from the battery based internally on the lithium IONS. This made it available to anyone and was marketed in the early 1990s by SONY. Although this technology is 30 years old and has not yet been surpassed by a new and better one, it shows how extraordinary it is !!! Now at the age of 97, the American physicist Goodenogh has developed a NEW solid-state battery with "glass" electrolyte still under study.
