The Greater Cincinnati Amateur Radio Association will host the annual 160 meter AM night on Thursday December 27th. All stations are invited to check in running AM on 1936 kHz. The annual event will begin with pre net check in's starting at 6:30 PM EST. The official net activities will begin at 9PM with Bill NM4A presiding as the netcontrol station. The pre net operators that will be checking in stations include Jay K8CJY, Geoff, W8GNM, George K8RRH and Mark WD8NKJ. All stations checking in will be listed on NetLogger.

This annual event attracts 50 - 70 160 meter AM stations from across the US and Canada running a variety of transmitters ranging from WWII equipment to modern SDR radios. Many classic transmitters from the golden age of AM ham radio and converted broadcast transmitters will also be checking in. Stations are invited to give a rundown on their equipment and station. Even if you are unable to transmit on 160, you are invited to listen in on this fun event and drop an e-mail to K8CJY@arrl.org to let us know that you are listening in.

We hope you are able to join us on Thursday December 27th for the event.

Sounds fun - maybe my noise will be tolerable that night and I can hear something :)
