Ordering and shipping the POTA Flex 7 coax by Messi and Paoloni was flawless and quick, with a remarkable turnaround time of 72 hours coming from Italy. However, the cable arrived knotted and in unsatisfactory condition upon the first unwind. Despite reaching out to the company for assistance, the initial concern quickly turned into frustration as the WhatsApp representative berated me for my supposed incompetence in handling the coax. While it's true that coax cables, especially premium ones like the POTA Flex 7, are meant for outdoor applications, the lack of empathy and understanding from the company's customer service was disheartening. If the company's response reflects a broader attitude of shifting blame onto users without considering their own potential faults, it raises concerns about the product's reliability in real-world scenarios like Portable Operations on the Air (POTA). Given the price point of $150 for this coax, users rightfully expect both a quality product and respectful customer service. In this case, the experience has left me hesitant to trust the POTA Flex 7 for field applications. Instead, I may opt to construct my own coax cables, where I have control over the quality and can troubleshoot any issues without fear of being blamed by the manufacturer. I'd like to make it clear that my experience might have been a one-off, but I feel compelled to share my honest opinion. As a fan of YouTuber Mike and his informative videos, I want to express my respect for him, but my experience with the product has left me disappointed.
All this fuss over a kink when you unwound it? I'm with the customer service guy on this. Good company, probably good coax.
