The Waverley Amateur Radio Society (vk2bv.org) is sad to announce that Colin Marks, VL2LV, became a silent key on Friday, July 26th. Born in 1925, Colin was licenced in 1977 as VK2EAZ and had been a long time active member of the society. He was an avid DXer on 20 metres and enjoyed long ragchews with his worldwide contacts in preference to winning awards. He was a popular member of the club and active in encouraging younger people such as scouts and guides to become involved with amateur radio. In accordance with his wishes, the sale of his radio equipment will be used to fund the training of young people in amateur radio.
