    Mr Thomas "Tom" Theodore Thomas, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacfeflly at Bluewater Health in Sarnia on February 10,2024 at the age of 84 years after a prolonged illnes.

    Thomas Theodore Thomas, VE3IJE SK

    Mr Thomas “Tom” Theodore Thomas, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health in Sarnia on February 10, 2024 at the age of 84 years after a prolonged illness.
    Tom was born in Sombra Twp on May 15, 1939 to George Edward “Ted” Thomas and Margaret (Foster) Thomas.

    Tom is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Rita (Pauwels) Thomas, and his daughter Angela (Eric) MacDonald. He was a devoted and proud grandfather to Noah and Tara Bratscher and Aiden, Holden and Ewan MacDonald.
    He is survived by his sisters Margaret Thomas, Carol (Vincent)
    Bryden and a brother James Thomas.
    He will be missed by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
    Predeceased by his daughter Tina Marie Thomas-Bratscher, his brother George (Jeanette) Thomas, Donald Thomas, his sisters Elizabeth “Betty” (Tom) Orton and Evelyn Vandergulik, sisters in-law Frieda Beselaere and Annie McPherson.
    Tom joined the Air Force and after his service returned to Wallaceburg to work. He joined the Wallaceburg fire department as a volunteer then became a full-time fire fighter, retiring in 1995 after 35 years of service.
    Tom was an avid amateur radio operator (VE3IJE), enjoyed travelling, fishing, golfing and wood carving. He was a great supporter of Wallaceburg Minor Hockey and loved watching his grandsons play.
    Tom will be resting at Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home (639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg) with visitation on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 4-7 p.m.
    The funeral service will take place on Saturday February 17, 2024 at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow and the Interment of ashes in St. Johns Cemetery in Sombra will take place at a later date.
    As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Wallaceburg Minor Hockey or the Translational Ovarian Cancer Research Group may be left at the funeral home.
