Special Event for Apollo 11 Splashdown

    The USS Hornet Amateur Radio Club (HARC) station - NB6GC - will be on the air for a special event commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 splashdown and recovery. USS Hornet Aircraft Carrier Museum at Alameda CA will host a four day celebration on July 23 - 26 with a visit by Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin on July 25th. HARC will operate NB6GC from their modern Radio Room on board USS Hornet on Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25. We will operate SSB, PSK31, and CW when possible on frequencies:
    3.530 MHz CW
    3.580 MHz PSK31
    3.857 MHz LSB
    7.030 MHz CW
    7.035 MHz PSK31
    7.260 MHz LSB
    14.070 MHz PSK31
    14.260 MHz USB​

    A special QSL Card featuring the Apollo 11 Splashdown will be sent for contacts during this event.

    What a great idea hope i can make contact,i grew up with my Father working at KSC in Florida and can still remember watching the landing on the moon and those famous words.

    Did you guys ever get on the air? I listened and looked on the DX clusters both days and never saw or heard you. Lots of IOTA contest guys on freq though.
