W7HUH passed away and was with his family when this happened. Jerry was a father, grandfather and passed 01-12-2007 of a sudden heart attack.

 

OUA ... what do you know about Jerry? Was he originally from the Seattle area?

Call sounds familiar, as my uncle W7HTR (sk) was from Seattle/Gig Harbor then Boise.

Jerry Brand was a family friend and had been in the militay during WW2. He was active on hf from the DC area. I am unsure as to where he had been in the recent past. He was from Grand Rapids, MI.

 

OUA the call is not a Vanity call, it appears to be original issue, which would state he was in the Northwest when it was issued. He is about the same age as my uncle was.

So, it would appear that (unless he got it as a reissue at some point due to license upgrade) that he was at one time a resident of the Northwest.

The proximity to my uncles call is what piqued my interest.
