All you need to get a Parachute Mobile QSO is a radio on 146.46 FM simplex and be within about 100 miles of Byron CA on the afternoon of Oct 16, 2010. Special event QSL cards will be issued.

Monitor our jumps on APRS: www.aprs.fi

Search for my callsign AF6IM and KF6WRW who will be jumping also.
You'll see our altitude, position, heart rate and blood oxygen levels in plain text telemetry.

The Parachute Mobile Project: "in the air, on the air" taking ham radio to new heights. Coming soon, 20M PSK 31 beacon, we've already test flown it. Higher altitudes coming next season, up to 24,000 ft. We've made two freefall test jumps at this altitude without radio gear. Will need oxygen for sustained canopy flight at these altitudes and ways to keep our radio gear (and ourselves) from freezing.
