BAUMGARTEL, ROBERT EARL, 80, husband of Helen Ann Hoke Baumgartel, passed away, Monday, February 13, 2012.

A native of Louisville, he was a member of St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, was a HAM Radio Operator and after 26 years, retired as an agent with National Life and Accident Insurance Company. In addition, he was a Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, retiring after 32 years of service from the Air Force and the Kentucky Air National Guard.

In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by his children, Dennis Earl (Mary) Baumgartel, Louisville and Debbie (John) Veith, Lexington; grandchildren, Nathan (Lauren) Littlefield, John (Andrea) Veith, Brooke Veith and Nicholas Veith; as well as three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, conducted by Rev. Elias Henritzy. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, KY. Visitation will be 9 a.m. Friday until the time of service at the church.
