    N1DGQ Francis A Swiech of Nashua passed away 18 April 2024 born 9 Oct 1944 in Springfield mass.
    Frank was a good man and a friend, and he would help anyone with studying for a amatuer radio exam and my sincere Condolence's goes out to his Family and Friends Rest in eternal Peace Frank and see you on the other side Matt N1MJS

    Francis Swiech (Frank) of Nashua, NH, beloved uncle, cousin and friend, passed away on Thursday April 18, 2024 in Bedford, NH.
    Francis was born on October 9, 1944, in Springfield, MA to the late Albert Swiech and Victoria (Saletnik) Swiech.
    After graduating from Chicopee High School, he went on to study Electrical & Electronic Engineering Technology at Wentworth Institute in Boston, MA, graduating with an associate degree in 1962. He continued his education in the same field at Lowell Technological Institute, graduating with a bachelor's degree in 1968.
    After graduation Francis went onto active duty through the Reserve Office Training Corps (ROTC) program where he served from 1968 through 1988. He completed Squadron Officer School in August 1971 and Air Command and Staff College seminar in 1980. During his service Francis worked various assignments at Hanscom Air Force Base, Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, and in Thule, Greenland where Francis served as Deputy Commander of a satellite tracking station. He was decorated with multiple medals, ribbons and awards. In 1988 Francis honorably retired from the Air Force with the rank of Major. He settled in Nashua, NH, after the last assignment while still maintaining his residence in Chicopee, MA at his family's home.
    Francis was an avid amateur radio operator with the call sign N1DGQ. Also, in previous years he enjoyed hiking and traveling.
    One of his greatest joys was his family with whom he loved spending time during holidays, family events or just visiting to say hello when in Massachusetts. One of Francis' most cherished memories was visiting Poland in the summer of 2011, his family's native country.
    Francis leaves behind his nephew Tomasz Swiech and his wife Gosia of Belchertown, MA; cousin Betty Wright and husband Richard of Chicopee, MA; cousin Kazimierz Swiech and wife Anna of Queens, NY; cousin Janice Hearn of Springfield, MA; cousin Peaty Marini of Apopka, FL; cousin Albert Marini of Springfield, MA; best friends James DeBruycker and John Halbert both of Nashua, NH; Harold Chase of Pepperell, MA; Cathy McLellan of Mesa, AZ and many others.
    Francis was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Victoria.
    SERVICES: Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at the Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua, NH 03064. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place at11:30 am St. Kathryn's Catholic Church, 4 Dracut Rd., Hudson, NH 03051. A military burial will immediately follow at 2:00 pm at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy., Boscawen, NH 03303. Family friends are invited to attend.
    In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Franks memory to a charity of your choice.
