Kenneth "Mac" Washam, KG4DAE of Whitley City, Kentucky died today--October 5, 2009 after a brief illness. His death was quite unexpected.

Mac was a retired educator for the McCreary County School System, and a General Class ham. He was first licensed in 1999. Mac was well known on the dual 444.050 linked repeater system in Williamsburg and Shelbyville, Kentucky. Many will remember him as the voice of "Slippery Rock, USA", and as a member of the regular daily ham coffee klatch in Whitley City.

He is survived by his wife, two adult children, several grandchildren, and a host of friends, past students, and his friends in the the ham community.
