I have, and I like all TH-D7x family radios with APRS.

It would be great if TH-D75 and TH-D74 allow to D-STAR connect with XLXnnn type reflectors. I belive that it is posible to implemet by firmware upgreade.

Kudos to Kenwood for continuing to support the Amateur market. But they could certainly use a better spokesman as their product "expert."

    Pretty sad IMO

590, 890 and 990 are all great rigs but are NOT outselling Yaesu or Icom.

    Why is it sad ?

Because I ran a 590SG for 7 years and still run a 480HX in mobile.

They`ve let down a lot of hopeful people.

I have played with all the digital modes, nothing I’m really interested in there. Used to play APRS, it had its place and time. So those features don’t interest me anymore. I just want a decent Tri-Band HT with a real front end that I can program in the field easily from the keypad without using a manual. If it does all that I will pay the price.

The D75 might be that radio then. I've found my D74 to be an excellent analog HT with good performance compared to my other HTs. That's why it has become my default SOTA HT. As for programming, it's probably one of the easier ones (definitely easiest of the ones I've used). The menu structure and layout is actually clear. I stood out in my in-laws' driveway one time with the radio and the RepeaterGuide app on my phone and effortlessly plugged in a bunch of repeaters in their area. There's no way I could have done that with my VX-7 or the IC-V8 I used to own. There are no oddly truncated words, everything is spelled out or uses standard abbreviations (TX/RX for example).

There are only two things I don't like about my D74, which the D75 doesn't appear to address either, and that's the physical size/shape (feels like a brick) and battery life. Operationally though, it's excellent.

DOES IT HANDLE CW? DOES IT HAVE A BUILT IN KEYER FOR A BUG?

Why would it? It's an FM HT.

Ohhhh, I get it, you're virtue signalling. How clever. ;)

Back to serious, on-topic talk, it does decode CW, so you can use it to listen. Done it several times myself while camping.
