SPECIAL EVENT AMATEUR RADIO STATION.

On Saturday, January 21, 2012 the Big Sandy Amateur Radio club will have an on-the-air special event station commemorating the 122 anniversary of the birth of the 13th Chief Justice of the United States Frederick Moore Vinson.
He was born January 21, 1890 here in Louisa in the Jailers quarters as his Father was the county Jailer at the time.
One of his many accomplishments was that he wrote the original draft of the Social Security Act and defended the constitutionality of it before the Supreme Court.
We will be operating on 40 and 20 meters. The 40 meter frequency
will be 7.225 plus or minus and 14.280 on 20 meters plus or minus.
Hours of operation will be from 0900 until 1600 E.S.T.
QSL cards will be available to all hams and special event certificates to hams that are judges, attorney or officers of the court.
